Corey's personal story

In 2016 I met a young lady I thought was the one. She explained how her young life had been filled with abuse and tragedy. I felt sorry for her and what she and her two children had been through. A few weeks after first meeting her things started to look up, we had our own home and her two children were happy. Then all of a sudden things started to go pear shaped. Child safety came in and removed her two children. I never understood why they did. She always blamed her father for it who was not around. I tried my best to support her with what was happening. One day I noticed the heavy drinking. The odd behaviour and I simply asked her if everything was OK. I was met with a coffee cup being thrown at me and a world of very hateful words. I tried to leave and then I was thrown a pregnancy test, it was positive, she told me if I leave she will kill the baby. I stayed.

When my son was born he was removed at birth. I never got to meet him. I tried to leave again and I was met with police serving me paperwork for domestic violence. Even with proof of not being in the same house as her when I tried to leave the police did not believe me. So I filed for a cross order. Several times she breached the order and yet police simply did not care to investigate. When I returned to the house to collect my personal belongings I was hit with something hard. I remember waking up to her on top of me with a knife at my throat telling me to do as I'm told or else. So I did as I was told to do in fear I would lose my life. I again tried to get police involved and yet again they failed to listen. Instead breaching me because she had a bleeding eczema sore on her chest.

She fell pregnant again and the same thing if I left she would kill the baby. It wasn't until July this year that she woke me up with a thump in the head from something hard which left me in a daze. She took off in her car quickly. I notified police about it. She cleared out the medicine cabinet including my prescription pain medication. Police didn't want to hear it. At around 10:30 that night police bashed on my door to take up with me about my phone call earlier that day and then they left. Police returned at 12:30am bashing on my door again. They searched my house only to find that what my ex had claimed was false.

Today I am still fighting in court to have conditions changed to zero contact however the ex cannot be bothered to turn up. 3 months of stuffing around just for conditions to be changed and they still get adjourned. She still continues to stalk me, harass me, and threaten me. Police have failed again.
